Who are all the craft beer folks in here?

Do you trade for out of state beers or just stay local? just curious how many are there.
I know Mike(mnat), Herbie, & Mark are but who else?
Wondering if we wanted to get a share together one day.

Favorite styles? breweries? beers?

I'm currently on a barrel aged sour kick, but still love my new england style IPAs

Jim Roth is another beer guy here in the club. Even thought they are a pariah right now, Wicked Weed has some of the best sour styles out there and they are out of Ashville NC. For NIPAs, Magnify and other half have been my go to if I can get my hands on some. They are both a bit too far north to make a day trip and stand in line. I have some friends that get some and I work out some deals with them. Just grabbed a bottle of Founders KBS the other day, I still am a big fan of stouts.

Edit: I think doing a trip to Kane brewery would be a good club thing because we could hit Trop and ACC after as they are all within a mile of each other. Kane has been putting out some pretty solid beers and they are canning a lot more.

yea, I've gone as far as alchemist & other northern VT breweries while on vacation. Was also at Treehouse, Hermit Thrush (BA sours only), and a few others on that trip.
OEC in CT is top notch for sours as is The Referend over in Hopewell township.

Amy & I will actually be in line @ OH saturday for their weekly release. We've done Tired hands & Equilibrium as well. it's become normal for us to travel somewhere every other week to stand in lines for beers lol

Im a big craft brew and home brew guy, so many new breweries opening up in NJ recently. My favorite is Jug Handle in Tinton Falls, definitely worth checking out.

We stopped by Dogfish Head brewery in June, well went out of our way to catch it. Then I went into my brewery last night (serves as my water making room and crawl space) pulled out some homebrew. I have to start another batch I am running way low. :mad_new:

I am a big craft beer fan, I enjoy tripels the most, however I also enjoys quads, porters, farmhouse ales and stouts. I am not a IPA or lager fan, I will drink them I just don't favor them. Some of my favorites include:

  • Flyingfish Exit 4
  • Ommegang Hennepin
  • Spaten Optimator
  • allagash curieux
  • Forgotten Boardwalk Smoked Porter
  • Purple Monkey Dishwasher Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter
  • barrels aged stouts
What are some of your personal favorites?

Any popsicle from The Answer or any Jreams from Burley Oak are my current guilty pleasure.
For relaxing while watching tv or hanging out, i'll grab any of the latest DDH IPA release from Other Half, Tilted Barn, Treehouse, Trillium, or Equilibrium.

A fan and a homebrewer. A regular attendee at Ommegang's Belgium Comes to Cooperstpown festival. Stouts, Porters. Quads, and IPA's are among my favorites. Founders, Ommegang, Trappist Roechfort and Stone do nicely; but I could name a dozen more.

Kane had a wicked Quad at BCTC this year but they said it was only for the event.:(

Last beer was a wheat beer, lightly spiced, with my own hops. Go ahead and ask me which ones, couldn't tell you I ordered them from the brewery store in Freehold. Only one rhizome lived and honestly lost track of what was what. I am sure some neighbor is going to accuse me of planting pot. I am going to try a sorta stupid Pina colada ale. I have been brewing for long time 25 years ish. If you are a hops expert come on by. We can sort them out otherwise they are like the green paly that everyone has.

Current fav is Forgotten Boardwalk's Double IPA. Can find it in Wegmans near Tropic and ACC.
Started getting back ino Weiss near the end of the summer as well.
Was thinking of resurrecting the homebrewing equipment and doing a few grain batches, but don't have the time right now. May break it out in the spring

Got to taste Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout this year for the first time. A bit sweet to drink more than a few ounces for me. And I love stouts.

Just missed that at some of the local places down here. It has been on my list.

Not a big fan of Troggs, but FYI, the Scratch 307 Cherry Stout is Amazing! May be one of the best stouts I've ever tasted.

Just got back from San Diego and had some great stuff out there. The Stone Imperial Wheat was outstanding and so was the ballets point big eye

If you guys are headed down to my meeting in May, Icarus brewing is pretty close and has been putting out some really good beers.
My niece told me about them recently. Planning a trip soon. Recommendation on their brews?

Managed to get KBS this year without even trying. Wandered into Wegmans almost a week after release. Got any KBS left? "Let me check in back?" Got a bomber and 2 bottles!
