Cons:
  • Like I mentioned, compared to the gyre, it doesn't seem as solid when I held it in my hand.
For the price, overall I like it, right now i have them both on opposite, alternating gyre modes and I have already seen junk getting kicked up from dead spots

Time will tell, but this unit gets my approval and I would recommend this pump.

I though they were too much flow for your cube.
Thanks a lot for all the info bud.

Marcus

You are running 2 of these in your 34g? If yes, would one unit be enough or is there a reason to have 2? Thank you for all the info!

I'm running both in my tank...the 1 gyre that I had running was good but it did leave some dead spots and algae build up in certan spots.

With the 2x at a low enough setting, my thinking is that it will resolve my issue.

Before this I was running a second pump, just not a Gyre......I had a small Tunze running on the opposite side

It seems to be working....the fish are swimming and the corals aren't getting blown around

Here they are running on the low setting. 1 gorgonian seems a lil pissed off but overall things seem ok. It's on W2, 3rd speed and dialed 1/2 way View attachment 17689

Wow that's a lot of flow I imagine. I have 2 CO40s on each end of a 220 gallon tank. It's 6 feet long And they are great. Maybe you can move your Gorgonian to a place that might get a lower flow.
