The store was large and well stocked with what I would call competitive dry good prices. Not the lowest, but below the mid range and nowhere near the highest. The employees were extremely helpful and friendly. I couldn't talk them into selling me a dilled 40 breeder they were holding from someone else. :) But they were more than happy to order whatever I needed. The drive was a bit long for me when I have some the greatest LFS stores in my area but worth a look if you are down there. I'm on the fence as far as purchasing saltwater live stock or corals since I was not enamored with the general health of all the tanks. But, all the fresh water animals looked pretty good and I would buy them if I had a freshwater tank.

FISH: Your basics only for the most part. Didn't see anything mindblowingly rare or even really moderately rare or unusual. Solid selection, though, and they seem to always have enough in stock.

CORAL: Some decent pieces every now and then. It seems like, to me, that they've had a lot less recently. Correct me if I'm wrong, though. Some stuff on sale now and it almost seemed like they were trying to clear a lot of it out.

HEALTH: The first few times, everything seemed really healthy. The past few times, the coral tanks had a lot of half-dead things in them. Fish health, though, is always pretty solid. I don't remember if I ever saw a dead fish in their tank. The invert health, though, seems to leave a lot to be desired.

DRYGOODS: Seems to be fully packed with almost everything a reefer could need. I have spent less time in this section than the others, but from a few glances, they did seem to have a ton of stuff. And if you need a tank (especially used ones), they are practically out the door with them!

STAFF: Great staff. Every person I've talked to there knows their stuff and is very, very nice. Never had a bad moment with their staff and I've come to really enjoy browsing there because of it.

PRICE: Solid prices. Mid ranged, really. Not expensive and not super cheap. They have some really, really nice clams for a very reasonable price and had some really nice rics for 29.99 a head which isn't too bad for some of the super colored ones. Fish prices seem in line with most stores (about $10-15 more than The Hidden Reef which is about another 15 minutes - 20 minutes west in PA).

OVERALL: I am not sure where I am about this store. I love going there, I love the staff, and the price is usually very competitive. I just have a hard time buying coral from there because of the half-dead pieces I see in their tanks quite often. Maybe I'm a bit too conservative about that, but it definitely does bother me. It's definitely not a major stop for picking up fish, but the fish are extremely healthy. Overall, it's a pretty good store. Definitely worth the trip if you're close to it. Even just going there to sit in front of their display tank for a bit (which is actually having some trouble it looks like with a number of bleached Acros in it).

I went there today 1/26/08 with my girlfriend who doesn't get that interested in looking at the fish at Petsmart or Petco and we both absolutely loved seeing all the tank setups and fish at Allquatics. She came out wanting a Koi Pond (for a future house) and not even flinching when I said I wanted a 150+ gallon tank at some point. It appears that they have a lot of tanks on the way to being setup which will make me drool even more. I did not see one dead fish in any of the tanks and they all looked very healthy. They also have a nice selection of Fiji Live Rock which is something I don't see very often at the other LFS I have seen. We had a little trouble following the directions to the store, but after going the wrong way for about 10 mins we figured it out. This place is definitely worth a stop. I will be going there when my new tank is ready for inverts and fish.

Don't let the relatively small size of this store fool you. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in helpfulness and customer service, UNLIKE some of the larger stores not too far away in PA. (You probably know which ones I'm talking about!) Their prices are competitive, their coral selection is quite good, and their fish selection is good, but it lacks variety. I didn't see too many of the less often seen species swimming around in their tanks. The tanks are clean and the fish are healthy. (By the way, the last time I was in THAT store in PA -initials H.R. - I saw quite a few dead fish in their tanks, as well as several that looked like they were on their way out.) What really sets this store apart from the rest is the staff. They are EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE; it doesn't matter who waits on you - everyone is an expert. If there's something they don't know, they will quickly find out for you. John usually helps me out - he's AWESOME. By the way, they take special orders, so that should take care of your desire for the rarer fish and corals.

I highly recommend stopping by this store. NJ people - If you are on your way to THAT other store in PA, make a detour and check this one out!
