So I ran out of my regular salt (red sea coral pro). Had some old reef crystals in the basement and mixed up a batch. PH good, salinity good, cool. Change water and everything looks good. Repeat once more...
Hmm... corals dont look normal. Test newest batch of seawater to find that Dkh was 3. Yikes!
I toss that water, run to the lfs and buy 5 gal of seawater and some coral pro salt. I warm up the seawater and adjust the salinity. PH is good and I meant to test Dkh, however being on autopilot I grab the nittrate test kit and find the nitrates are off the chart at 80 ppm or above.
So, if you buy seawater from your lfs, test it for all parameters. !
