Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
What did you use to treat? Bayer does work well, but I would have re grafted all corals onto new plugs. The eggs are a bugger, can be in the smallest spots. Id dip every 3 weeks....and get a wrasse or two. Hat those flat f%@#$s!
Give it time... small starts are better. if/as they grow the polyps cloned will be adapted to your tank style. I’d say 6 months and your tank will need a bourbon shelf To appreciate the colors
Hah! If I remember it was K&j magnetics. They made a neo-whatever magnet that was encased in durable plastic. I would epoxy/blue on frags and place on wall. It was strong enough to hold a 120 gal glass thickness with a large frag epoxied to it. It worked great for red dragon as you could move...
Is that a chalice above? If so sweeper tentacles may have bombarded it with stingers. They present at night and not every night. Some can extend several inches.
I agree on the random flow pattern. Back in the day on my 120 I had 2 mp40s opposite sides and not in line with each other and 3 mp10s on back wall in varying depths. All were going full and slow at different times. Herbie had crazy flow in his tank.
Herbie, where are you headed? Your tank had the most amazing combo of coral and fish!! I will miss your hosting and “happy to frag a piece for you” motto. Keep in touch.
Pete
I am, but won’t be till next year. Too much on my plate and John is right, keep it in the fun and not work zone! It is good to see John back he always had a great tank, so the new one should be awesome.
Some day.... right now I’m into dart frogs which are 2% of the work and allows for house projects to get to completion. Frogs are great color but nothing like coral.
