    The "New" Ocean Gallery II

Folks, If you haven't been to the Ocean Gallery II lately, it almost looks like a different store. There is definitely a new attitude, and plans for additional upgrades. There is now lots of SPS "mini colonies" and they are in the process of setting up a decent sized "top down" frag tank.

I regularly visit the store, and haven't been there for a month or two and I couldn't believe it. The best part is that Gary and company have finally become a club sponsor. I guess the club "propaganda" I dropped on Gary and my shameless promotion of the club finally paid off.

Great job guys and welcome to the club.

Thanks Herb for the props!!! For those of you who haven't been here yet, please do stop by...While we don't have a "couch" we do have some mighty comfortable salt buckets to sit on while you are visiting. ;D

Went in there for my lunch break. This was my second time in the store - first time was like 2 years ago.

Anyways - I never knew you guys even had a section for small pets/reptiles/birds. Good to know - I assume our njrc discount doesn't apply in those sections right? Figured I'd ask anyway.

Besides the usual assortment of fish one expects (nemos/blue hippos, yellow tangs etc.) it was interesting to see some of the "larger" fish they had in stock - like hulk-sized yellow tangs (lol) and a tank of five different eels. There was also a pair of watanabe angels.

No skunk or fire cleaners - but a ton of CBS - and at least one tank looked like there was a mated pair (if not tomorrow there'll be a dead cbs). It's also been a while since I saw so many damsels in not one but two tanks. Then a third tank with some nice chromis specimens (both blue and green). It'd be interesting to have a damsel-only tank at home (like a mini-reef where everyone kept each other in check).

My only comment would be I thought I saw a few cleaner wrasse (or were they neon gobies?). I would encourage the store to avoid getting those wrasses if at all possible. But other than that - the livestock looked great. More incentive for me to get my tank started! lol.

I also saw about 3-4 shark eggs for sale, I don't think people know how large of a tank these will require...
