Not to make excuses ER, but part of the lack of "buzz" on the forums beforehand last year was due to the fact that our website host decided to close up shop and turn us off without any warning. A lot of the BOD's time and energy was spent on getting it back online with another host, and then spending hours and hours of time to help members get onto the new site. There was about 6 months of posts that were completely lost due to this issue and it took a lot of effort to get us running "normal" again. It was a very frustrating time I can imagine... so I can understand why some of the energy wasn't placed on the Frag Swap planning.
That said, we all agree that the event needs a bit more pizazz this year to get it back to how it usually is. This thread will be a big part of doing that and all comments and suggestions are welcome.
Also, the club does buy frags and even equipment from our vendors (in addition to what they donate) for the raffles, and even the big screen TV's that we've had in the past were bought by the club to generate interest with enticing raffles. That sort of thing will definitely be a part of this years event too (maybe not a TV, but something big will be the "grand prize".)
Anyway, we're pretty close to finalizing a new location for the Swap and we'll hit you with details early and often this year!
