Sponges

I have pineapple and 'branch' sponges in my sump- no problem, but just noticed some of the branch/ root looking sponges in my 13g. Should I remove them, will they become a problem- does anyone want any lol

I am not 100% on this. I am sure someone with more Expirience will comment. I think sponges are good for reef tanks. If you are growing sponges then your reef is thriving. I also believe they are filter feeders so they clean the water. I have sponges and I leave them alone.

I've read conflicting things about sponges- pineapple are fine, other's may clog a system, they won't live long because they need finer particles etc Mine have been thriving. This type did clog my media in the sump, so I removed it, but are growing fine on the glass in the sump of the 40g- these showed up in my 13g tank- fun to see for now, but I'll eventually have to remove them- is anyone interested in them?
