Please help me with my GHA

I have turned off my T5’s since this began and just run leds right now. The worst is when I vacuum the back of the tank where I can’t see I suck up a lot of GHA. I have been dosing live phyto. Is Microbacter 7 same concept as carbon dosing. I have been carbon dosing for 11 weeks now and I was able to bring nitrates down from 75+ ppm to 7 ppm. Can I do both at same time?

Yes it’s similar to carbon dosing. It’s dosing good bacteria to outcompete the bad bacteria. Have you found any I’ll effect from your coral from having the t5’s off? I just turned them off today while I dose the flux rx.

None. I only used my T5’s a few hours a day. Once I get this hair algae thing under control then I will slowly get them back online

Yeah the only drawback, the small one I have now decimated my coralline rocks, but i think he’s way to small to put a dent in the GHA.

The 2 I got last month now the GHA and the coraline down at the same time. I know where they’ve been because the rocks are white again lol

Urchins- for me- good and bad- sure they eat gha, but also eat coralline ( which is good for some ) but for me anything covered in coralline has no other algae on it- I prefer coralline to bare rock

My coralline was minimal before and after urchins but tank is still pretty new. Maybe 7 months now. I hate gha more than I like coralline. Have some here and there.
