We have a 4 light fixture over a 65 soon to be 90 tank (18" front to back). It is enough light for the lowlight stuff, but it isn't enough for any high end SPS, clams, etc. So enough for a broad range of things (caps, digi, shrooms, etc), but not enough for torts, crayolas, clams, etc.
I poked holes and used zip ties to hold mine together. Worked like a charm. I used a mini-version (water bottle) to catch some inverts before treating the system with interceptor.
Someone else must have or be familiar with that unit. Hopefully they can chime in. That fixture should be fine to get you started. I used a PC fixture with SPS in the very beginning. Does the unit have a channel for a splash guard?

PCs do not need UV protection to protect the inhabitants. They are already shielded. If your bulbs don't get salt spray on them then you probably don't need to protect the bulbs from water. You do need to take care not to expose the end caps to water/spray/etc as they are not...
There's a whole thread dedicated to this in the SPS forum, complete with dosage recommendations, etc., if you're looking to get started right away. Probably your best place to start and then feel free to ask questions either in the forums or at the meeting as you socialize.
We'll be doing a thorite hands on and a photography workshop this meeting. I think that's about all of the scheduled activity we can muster (and have time for) in one meeting. I don't think we should add another to our agenda. I will bring it up with the committee for discussion at a later meeting.
