If you have a real phosphate issue, GFO is a waste of time and money. LC can help you manage a phosphate issue with gentle changes. That said .12 is not a problem.

If you want it to be a bit more sturdy you can use fiberglass rods from the hardware store. Cut to size and drill into the rocks. They won’t break.
