Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The monthly meetings are free to attend. That's probably a good place for you to get started.
The admission to this event was 20$ if you signed up early and only 25$ as late as October 1.
These events cost money to put on. Fly in 3 speakers (one from Hawaii), put them up in a hotel, rent a...
The thread was rife with content that didn't appear to be correct. It was, in our opinion, more important to remove the thread than to risk missing a reply. While we wouldn't remove a thread that is factual in nature (regardless of whether that paints any store in a good light or poor), this one...
LOL! If only it were that easy! ;D I think sexual maturity of the original clown has a lot to do with it. I suspsect the one of mine that wouldn't pair was mid-change and therefore extra agressive. Unfortunately you don't know where you're at until you do it! Good luck!
If the 140 is a 6' tank there might be enough horizontal space... at least so that they don't kill each other.
My 5" took a 1/2" in like a stray kitten and they mated right away. My 3" chased my other 1/2" right out of the other tank (4' 65g). I think that fish JUMPED INTO the net. That 3" had...
That is a very close size difference and it is possible that your existing clown is still in transition. IME, Maroons in transition are VERY intollerant to additions. Is it possible to put the existing clown in with the new one rather than putting the new one in the tank? The odds of separating...
Great photos and beautiful corals. Thanks for sharing. Keep your eye out for the "Photo of the Month" posts. I'm sure you've got some great candidate photos!
We've done that too (I'm sure a lot of us have). It isn't nearly as bad as it seems. The tank seems to recover fairly quickly from it, even without reacting at all. Hope everything works out ok!
Yes, you need the stand offs. The end caps connect to the stand offs and the stand offs screw into the canopy. You need both the stand offs and the end caps. Two of each per bulb.
Unlike some clubs, NJRC is a Non-Profit Corporation. There is no "owner" or benefactor of your dues and payments. The club uses your dues to be able to bring in speakers (like the ones presenting at the Frag Swap), educate and our mission is to help conserve our ocean resources while preserving...
Since your cap is typically for drains and clean outs, just make sure the unit isn't kept under pressure (solonoid should be before the unit, not after). I'm looking forward to more progress!
That's what I thought as well, Matt. You also have to be very selective of any other tankmates as well. Small enough and it is food, big enough and it could be too agressive.
