You can take a hole saw with the center bit removed and go to town running it over it. It’ll get really fuzzy as you go. You know it’s enough when your arm is numb.
I agree. New screens take a while to take hold, starting over each time wouldn’t be very efficient.
Did you rough the screen up? If not you should, it will grow much more algae with more area to hold on to.
well that’s a lot of phosphates for me. I don’t think that’s a enough of an alk swing to cause issues most of the time. You have a Nano right? I’ve never run one before, but everything happens faster in a Nano....
@diana a that sucks, feel bad for that poor guy. It’s always those little errors that get us. Thankfully I was using sodium nitrate and not ammonium nitrate. My nitrates were 8x what he had. I’m now down to 4x where he was at his highest. Ammonia definitely killed those fish. I got there...
So I did about 450 or 500ish gallons of water changes so far. 50 gallons a day (my entire salt water container) in bulk changes a day, along with 25 gallons a day through awc. Things were not looking happy in there. I’ve stopped the bulk changes and lowered the awc changes to 10 gallons a...
