Thanks. I think it’ll be just fine. They really don’t seem all that effected for the most part. Who needs low nitrates? haha
Lol thanks to @MaximusReef for making me test!
Kind of a long story to describe a dumb move I made with my reef if you’re interested....So I haven’t tested my nitrates since the last time my reefbot went down. I was consistently dosing the same numbers, didn’t think much of it. It’s been some time since my reefbot went down. I would use...
Purigen is a great product. I have used it with great success on my estuary system. I’d be suspect of where you would read that and suggest the mfr’s product page to be sure you have the correct info.

From this page:
Purigen® controls ammonia, nitrites...
You may be cutting off your nose.... Purigen won’t remove nitrates (which aren’t too high in your system anyway). It removes organic waste like a skimmer or carbon. The organic waste (think ammonia) eventually contributes to nitrates through your bio filter. Your corals utilize those same...
Definitely get a pic up.
Cyano comes in many colors, though red is most often found (in my reef anyway). I have a couple patches of red and green cyano currently. Its always due to nutrients. You can take action like chemiclean to attack it directly (I have, and it works), but until you...
no issues with the glass cover on my display. Every few months I wipe the salt off it. My DT is in a fish room and I need a ladder to get up there. If your tank is at a regular height and in your house, you’ll notice it more often and it will be cleaned way more often I think.
Like Rob said, it’s a fairly simple thing to do. You just need patience, the right bits, and a tank without tempered glass. I’ve yet to break a pane of glass that wasn’t tempered (it was all my fault on that one)
Diana, do you still go by my office often? Ryan is fairly close to me and we’ve been trading a bunch. He’s a great guy with a healthy system. When my office opens back up I’d be happy to make deliveries for you if you guys do any trading. :)
Wow, that’s great info. Thank you. I’m going to give it a shot. I usually let some stuff stack up, than make a few gallons in a bucket. This would be great if I could have a soak bucket always ready.

Lol who’s afraid of citric acid? I agree it works very well and will not penetrate plastic like vinegar. (Only important if you use things with magnets in them like mpxx wetsides)
I know you said rimless, but you can get a lowboy tank for $105. I’m running a few of them and they are very functional. They measure 48x24x10.
I’m also running a seapora 45 rimless as frag tank. It measures 48x18x12. It’s reef ready , but only relies on one drain. I would have preferred...
