Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I have a mated pair of Scooter Blennies! They have been dancing together at night (never during the day, but at night they're inseperable). This has gone on for the better part of a month or more. Last night they were swimming, attached to each other at the side as though they were "arm in arm"...
That looks pretty good to me. The only problem that I see is that there is no "surface skimming" in the skimmer chamber of the first sump so I can forsee a film building up in there.
Great way to simplify it Chris. That's really helpful. If you could give an "in-a-nutsheel" example of 3 and 4a & 4b (both +/-) that would REALLY be a great help.
Did you see the skin come off of the ponape? If it is out of the water for a minute does it get slimey? It looks a really bright white, which may be bleaching. No polyps, I take it?
All things considered, I think it looks really great. Looks like most will come back to their glory in no time...
Could you please take a picture of the inside of the stand? I'm not sure that I would be incline to cut a (very large) square out of your center brace. Maybe enough to send the pipes through, but not enough so that it would fit a whole sump (without extra supports being added somewhere else)...
Mush a little concrete onto those PVC frames and you'd never know it wasn't rock! In time it will color up and be less noticable. One thing you can do is to paint it with purple PVC primer. Then it will blend in right away.
I had thought about the bucket bit, but I don't own a bucket I'd feel comfortable sitting in my sump (who knows what dirt/etc is on the outside of those buckets). As for the garbage can, I'm not sure I'd be able to drip
effectively that way.
I have used heaters in buckets on larger...
When I was using Trop water in 2004 the SG was low. I wanna say it was 1.019.
What town are you in? Maybe there's someone nearby who can check it for you.
