Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We have a 10g under our 65. You might be able to get away with a 15 tall? We had a fuge in there for a while, but took it out in favor of more water changes. We keep the 10g tank and a salt bucket under the tank. The salt bucket holds about 5g of topoff water. Those two items fill the space...
Ahh that's in the frag tank. I'll check tonight and report back. Psammi's in my main (I just happened to have the perfect spot for him, lol). I wanted to be able to keep a good eye on him since he'd been through so much in the last couple of days.
I would let it work itself out over the next few days then. Your alk will probably hit your running levels first and when it does go ahead and dose to keep it up (while continuing to let the Ca fall).
The good news is that Psammi looks great!
Looks like the PH is coming down on its own. Ca is strangely high. What salt mix did you use? I'd hold off dosing for right now. Keep an eye on that DKH though and maybe start buffering tomorrow (your alk & ca look out of balance so no Ca additive until that level drops some). Where does your PH...
Some acros don't like to be in water that other acros have been in. When they're handled like that they tend to slime and polute the water and start a war (the amount of water they acclimate in is not typically enough for insulation from the toxins excreted by the other corals in the water...
Have you tried cutting off the good stuff? You should frag the parts you think you can save, dip them in an iodine solution and remove from the tank the stuff with the decay (brown jelly?).
Ouch. Those losses are staggering, Francis. Hopefully the "halfs" that you still have will recover and be better than before! Hang in there.
Hopefully someone knows where you can buy o-rings. All I can think of is a scuba store, but I'm sure there are plenty of places that sell them in a...
So what then would you do to eliminate MORE TCO2 from the system? Seems to me that an outside air source is being provided, a skimmer which it hopefully off-gassing some and the drop from the 1st floor to the basement that creates its share of turbulance in the sump.
Since it seems that I'm...
I'll start this question by saying that I'm completely out of my league in this thread! But I have a burning question that I can't help but ask, having looked over the PH formulas above (Dick & Jane be darned).
If my PH rides naturally around 8.05 (using a highly inaccurate, industry common...
We have one under out 180 that's already saved us once. Why oh WHY there isn't one under our 65 I can't tell you! LOL! And the sump in the basement (of course I'd be setting that off way too often)!
Thanks Ken, Dana & Jack for opening your home to us all. You have a beautiful home and your theater room coveted by many (I wonder how many of the men are eyeing up their basements as we speak!). The food was wonderful, the company great and the laughs in overabundance.
Thanks to all who...
We had a great time, we learned a lot and we got a real good feeling for what it takes for a club to host MACNA. From that, I took away that we're ready!
It was a great weekend and I highly recommend that as many people as possible plan to attend MACNA XX in Atlanta next year. The Georgia...
