Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Also, check out their Facebook page. They have different activities for shark week, including a shark hand stamp. This year they have had 2 behind the scenes tours, so if you missed out, you may be able to get in on one. IF you search for Jenkinson's, you should be able to find a post with...
Most volunteer work at the Jenkinson's is for conducting group tours. They have a minimum amount of days you volunteer for. I do believe some of the tanks there were donated. I believe the Anemone tank was one. I think Jenkinson's Aquarium is trying to get more freshwater tanks. I think maybe...
I reached out to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden about a possible behind the scenes tour, but I haven't heard back yet. The renovation is mostly cosmetic on the outside. But they did take down the entrance reef tank. Some of the corals and fish from it are upstairs, but you can only look down...
It looks like they are nearing completion of the renovation.
It looks like they are putting in a few tanks near the new entrance. I wanted to check out under the stand.
They had a few new things to see.
I stopped in at the Mystic Aquarium. While I didn't see the blue lobster I remembered from the last trip, I was surprised to see a beluga whale. I was asked to post a few pictures from their reef tank. I included a few others as well which will be in the first post.
I like hogfish.
The Cichlid...
I was a little nervous when I first arrived that I might have had the wrong day; not that that has ever happened to me before. Of note, Max did not get all the frags, although he did double his odds by having Heather wear his shirt. Marisa may have thought it was a catfish meeting. I got to meet...
I took my grand daughter to Jenkinson's aquarium to find it open but under renovation. I was told that the reef tank at the entrance had been taken down. That is the tank I always spent the most time looking at. Does anyone have any information on their plans for replacement reef tanks, if any?
This is my favorite place to shop for corals. Mark will let you know if something is not right for your system. Plus, if you are looking for a specific coral, let him know. I wanted pipe organ coral and told him about it. Now I have it in my tank. Plus if you see something you like, he can let...
My problem with my RO HOB skimmer is more that if the set screw is not set tight, the skim weight can make the cup drop, which in turn makes more wet bubbles (Rubber band is really only good for recording your last level). It then overflows out the top of the lid in spite the lid baffle. So I...
Here are a few other photos. And no, there were no explosives used in fragging the corals. And I now understand what a "Herbie size" frag means. Thank you for hosting.
