Good question, Sam. Our PH is always right around 8 and I've never been able to do anything that would maintain it any higher. I just gave up and run it at 8. Sure wish it was higher though.

If the tank is in PERFECT condition and the stand is beautiful, it might be worth it. That said, I'm sure you could get more for less if you shopped around a bit.

You can run it just the way it is right now. We ran ours like that until we plumbed through the floor. Ours was not a particularly productive skimmer. Hopefully yours does a better job!
