Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Great job capturing the weekend, Ralph! Excellent photos. I still need to resize mine so I can get them posted as well. I'm going to move this to the public forums though so that everyone can see the pictures from MACNA. The more people that see it and get an understanding of the value of the...
I'd probably do that. I can always use miscellaneous reef carp! LOL. Maybe not if he was charging 50$ for the box, but I waste $20 on less all the time, I'm sure!
You're scheduled to have a meeting. They'll recover just fine the week after. Sorry. Forgot to mention the curse when you signed up!
Seriously... is there anything near that could be stinging them? Did flow change at all recently? What part of the colony are they on (middle? outside?)?
What...
When we got our tank from Trop they sold us 2 of the smaller heaters rather than one large one. Don't know if that had to do with the size of the tank or just the salesman we had at the time.
When our system grew we replaced the smaller stealth probes with Won brothers heaters.
I had a problem...
Yes, the sweepers from a torch/frogspawn/hammer can and will sting nearby corals. That is their turf defense mechanism and they'll use it fight to the death. Best to keep them apart from other non-euphellia species.
MASNA (Marine Aquarium Society of North America), the organization that gives us MACNA (Marine Aquarium Conference of North America) has elected our very own BillyR98 to the position of Secretary on the MASNA Board of Directors.
Congratulations, Billy! We're proud to have you representing NJRC...
One of the speakers this weekend did a 2 hr talk on it. AMAZING to watch the build out. Steve68 (when he gets home from MACNA) or Kathainbowen or Phil519, I think... should be able to give some insight into your trip. Bring home lots of pictures.
We met Marc at MACNA this weekend. What a great guy (and with any luck he'll be at our frag swap in October). He's building some AMAZING archway pieces that are to die for. I'm pretty sure that you can send him dimensions and he'll "build it out" there and tell you how many pounds it is.
His...
Rick, Carlo is suggesting NOT increasing your calcium at this point because of the potential precipitation reaction of the calcium with the alkalinity. I'm really sorry for all of the confusion along with this topic.
As you can see there are many ways to attack this problem and you're going to...
Well there's a "To Make Matters Worse" addendum to the story! Yipes! Talk about when it rains it pours, huh? D'oh. I can't believe the bank and shoddy company got away with that. What a shame. I guess it was an "as is" sale with no ability to use an inspection company?
Oh the stories you'll...
Great job on a complete transformation. I'm in awe about how disgusting those people could live and not seeeem to mind. In one of the photos I saw that the toilet was strapped shut? Was that because it had been deemed some sort of hazard, or was that part and parcel to replacing the room? What...
Right. Cross the wrasses and maybe the anthias off the list.
We're using egg crate (actually just along the back section of our canopy where it is open) to keep our anthias in check. They haven't hit the lights that I can tell. LOL. That's in our 180. The 65 is tightly covered and I try to keep...
