If you go with a 120 get one with a single overflow,I have the perfecto with 1 overflow in the corner. AGA puts 2 and I think it looks nasty with 2 in a 48" tank.

was the substrate the dry or alive? If dry did you thoroughly rinse it with water before adding it to the tank? How long has this been up and running?

What kind of substrate are you using?

Hey Dan I would loose the glass covers.If you want to have something on top you can get egg crate from HD or lowes to keep fish from jumping.

Keep in mind that palys are full of toxins,so be extremely careful when fragging them not to get it in you eyes or mouth.

Jims a great guy,I have bought numerous fixtures from him over the years and never had a single problem.I don't think I'd ever buy a new light fixture from anybody but him.

I had this same problem a little while back and solved it by redirecting flows and then adding more flow.Problem cleared up in about 4-5 days.

I can tell you as someone that has dealt with mainstream suppliers for aquarium equiptment there are only a few in our area and they compition price wise fluxuates between them,when I was ordering 1 would have a sale of lets say 5% off tanks 1 week the next week another 1 would come in at 8-10%...

I run 8x54 T-5 on a 24" deep tank I have a 8" clam on the bottom as well as SPS and everythings happy and growing.I used to run halide before the T-5 and I see my corals look better under the T-5 and I have no heat issues. This is only my opinion.

As a perfecto tank owner I can tell you I made my LFS bring in 3 differnt tanks for me and all of them had rough looking silicone seams.But knock on wood I have no leaks.

The store will be fish only,salt and fresh. I think every shop will agree you need to have fresh as well if you want to stay in buisness.I used to goto a salt only shop in PA YEARS AGO and yes they were always busy but I saw my share of people come in looking for fresh, only to be turned away...

I love my 8x54 from catalina bought mine through a reseller on ebay was cheaper than catalinas website.
