Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Wait! @amado , if I'm not mistaken, you're in marketing and sales. The number one rule of marketing is "pulling the wooly" on people. There is a very large percentage of the population who want the "best" and are willing to pay. I use to be a motorhead and I'd hang out at a friends parts...
For you DIY Fish food makers, I found this out a couple years ago....be aware of Sodium Tripolyphosphate that is used with prepared seafood, and this is hard to believe, but they do NOT need to list Sodium Tripolyphosphate on their labeling. This would add additional phosphates to you system...
Looks like you're a little over an hour away, but if you want to make the trip, I have a 55 with metal stand that you can have. I'm in Sayreville. Note, just the tank and stand. I'll throw in PVC pipe pieces if you wish.
I've got a couple different variations of these:
Crock Pot American Goulash.....so easy to make and great comfort food on a cold night!
My wife calls it Beef-a-Roni..... that her high school cafeteria use to serve! :oo:
My go-to LFS place for salt is Sea Level Aquariums, where plain Instant Ocean 200G was $35....and I can't remember what Reef Crystals was...maybe $45. But I just checked, and they just upped the price to $40 and $50, respectively.
Now I need Chewy to put the purple plain Instant Ocean on...
DO NOT CHASE PH!!!
Assuming the alk and calc are within an acceptable range, your pH is determined by dissolved carbon dioxide in the water. If you want to raise your pH, stop breathing! :oo:
Gives new meaning to "sleeping with the fishes." :D
But doesn't work very well as a pick-up line....."Hey sweetie, how would you like to sleep with the fishes tonight?" :oo:
I used it back in 2016/2017.....it's a miracle. The bryopsis just melted away with no harm to fish or corals. This was back when you had to actually buy the capsules and open and empty them out. Just be ready to do frequent water changes when the algae starts to die and melt away....after...
Wow, blast from the past. John, I sent you a text. The club meeting you had at your house will always be remember....I've got to believe the largest attendance ever. Gosh, I'm starting to sound like Trump....millions were there!
Best of luck to you and Phyl on your new venture.
If your nitrate number is real, it would call for the low range Hanna (0-5 ppm)....BUT, it is just a pain to use, you'll end up not using it. Here's a video that talks about it's shortcomings.
The high range is for 0-75 ppm, with a 0.1 ppm accuracy (according to their literature). If...
Come on Mike! Nikki will give you those puppy dog eyes and want you to buy this little place for her. Make Nikki happy! Buy it and I’ll move in as your poolboy, bartender and chauffeur.
Erna, so sorry to see this. Did Brian verify your results with test kits he might have brought along? If your nitrate number is real, I'd stop doing water changes. You didn't mention phosphate, but seeing a zero for nitrate I would assume that would be zero as well. All living things...
