Id go for the swc 250a1 , Its an awesome skimmer. I think it really depends on a lot more than how many fish are in the tank. I think its almost irrelevant how many fish u have in the tank, cause there's too many factors. If u dont have the correct turnover and circulation throughout the tank...

Yea when i switched from 400mh to led some coral looked different under the leds than they did under the mh. All of them adjusted to the light fine though, didnt lose any. Some turned a different shade of the color they were after a few weeks under the led also

Dont think it matters if they r quiet. As long as they are reasonably quiet, those type of pumps put out so much air u could prob mount it in the basement or a closet and run a bigger air line to the tanks then split it up from there. Or if it has 6 ports just run 6 airlines. lucky 4 u air line...

Same here. Sometimes its better to have 2 med size instead of one lrg and so on. U appreciate when one breaks down.

I have the cheap leds from reefkoi, 120-1w leds. Same as redsand had/has same as the ones steamer bought from amazon for under 200. As long as u put enough of them over the tank youll b more than fine. My tank is 72 long 24 wide and 28 high. I have 6 of these led units hung 8" over the tank...
