It says to add a spoonful of the the powder to the water sample but there was no spoon in the package. How much is a spoonful?

I've had a mated pair of percs for the last 5 - 6 years until this afternoon when I found the male dead. My question is this: if I put a baby perc in will it become male and pair up or is she is a widow for life? Thx.

I've had him at least two years and he chows down on Aiptasia but when it's gone, watch out. Torches, duncans, zoas. anything with tentacles is fair game - $40 or trade.
