    Modded Nanocube 12DX - 08817

Let me start by saying I have not been on NJRC much lately. I see there is no longer a "for sale" forum. Please forgive me if this post is inappropriate :-\ I have decided this needs to go. I will most likely never set this up again and its a shame to sit around when it should be in your house...

Whats in the back of your NANO?

I would run a sponge topped with floss just under the intake in one. Chemi-pure / carbon and the like in two < these do better when situated so water flows through them, not just sitting on the bottom.... but even sitting there is better than not having at all. I am not a fan of extra live rock...

Whats in the back of your NANO?

Opinions differ here. Many would say you would be just fine with water changes alone in a nano. I agree to a point. While I am a fan of using some mechanical filtration ( sponges and floss ) too much without servicing can lead to a build up of detritus and nitrates. Too many sponges can also...

Whats in the back of your NANO?

Wow, old thread lol.... but that's not a bad thing. IMO, too many sponges to keep clean. I would keep the one in the first chamber and top it with floss, again, JMO As for the chaeto / light question, the back of nano-cubes are covered in a thin black vinyl that can be removed so a light can...

    Nanocube quick cooling fix

Those everflows are noisey suckers, no? ( or perhaps I am thinking evercool? ) I eventually bit the bullet and bought a SilentX upgrade kit from Nanotuners for my NC-12 I have kicked myself in the butt for not doing it sooner. Soooo quiet now. Sounded like a jet plane taking off when those...

What nano cube system do you guys prefer

I see you have been pointed in the right direction already. I will just add that I started with a JBJ NC 12DX and it still runs to this day. Depending on what you plan to keep ( I see you said mainly softies ) there are aftermarket mods/parts available for most of the popular AIO's out there...

    Needreefunds' NC 12 DX- 02-2007

Wow, long time since I have updated here. This is a shot of the blue Xenia when a ray of sunshine hit the side of the tank ( rare ) but it really shows all the sparkle hidden by the PC lighting in this 'cube.
