If you are going to bake the turkey look in to brining. We have done it that way for a few years and it is awesome. Comes out a lot more juicy and flavored. The Williams-Sonoma brine mix is pretty good but I'm sure it is easy to make your own. We deep fry on as well which is always fun
I have a 40BR set up and can at least give you my set up so you know what fits/works. For a sump go with a 20 gallon high. (my converted wet-dry is about the same dimensions) It will give you plenty of room for water to flow back in to the sump when the pump gets cut. To save space in the sump I...
I've been looking at these reactors as well and after looking at the purigen I have... I'm thinking the only way to run it in the reactor in the bag it comes in but that brings up the issue of the water just flowing around the media. Maybe a much finer sponge to keep it in there?
Forgot to say, Thanks to everyone for the kind words so far. This is almost the end of the road for this tank already. Grabbed a drilled 40 breeder with a stand, canopy, sump with skimmer and a koralia 1 this weekend for $235. Not a bad deal at all. Going to try and get that where this tank is...

I'm thinking I can just take the bio balls out and be done with it but the trickling through the blue...
Well... I got a sweet deal on a new tank but that brings up the issue of transfering everything over with the least amount of stress on the fish. the new tank is going to have to go right where the old one is so one has to be taken down and the new one set up rather quickly since I have nowhere...
Thanks for the help. I thought I wouldn't be happy so wanted to make sure my thinking was right before I tried the powerhead. I just scored a RR 40 breeder too so the K2s will be the best bet.
I started my 30 gallon long with a Koralia 3 and it was far too strong so I traded it for a Koralia 2 which is working out. I wanted to put something at the other end of the tank to get some more flow so I picked up a Koralia nano but I'm not sure if it is going to be enough so I left it in the...
