    Opinions on Seachem Reef Salt

I do not have any problem with any film or diatoms in my mixing barrel. I have had that issue with a few older bags of the mix in the past, but I dont use the bags anymore. But just looking at the older bags I knew I was taking a risk. Sure enough.

    Opinions on Seachem Reef Salt

I've been using Seachem Reef Salt for years. Never had any issues. The higher Ca/Alk/Mg is nice. Only problem I did have in the beginning is because of the higher levels. My mixing barrel is in the basement with no fresh air. So the pH would drop and I would always get precip lining the barrel...

    AC III program

Seems fine enough. Only problem that stands out it, I have had problems controlling the Aqualifters from the DC8. They don't pull enough current and will continue to run even after the DC8 is signaled to shut off. DC8's are solid state not relays and the leak current is enough to continue...

Who sells NLS (New Life Spectrum) Food?

yes they do, i work right down the street from there. I am usually in there at least once a week. Unrelated, beware of their frag tanks. Serious bryopsis and flat worm issues.

Stray Voltage – How much is bad?

Most VOM's have a ma(MilliAMP) setting. This will basically complete the circuit and measure the current. Measuring the voltage doesn't complete the circuit. Anything above ~.5 ma you can usually feel a tingling sensation. Above ~3 ma it can start to get painful. Above 10ma and your in a real...

    auto top off

you can get a peristaltic pump from the following link. You will be able to pump quite a distance. Look at the different pumps and select one at the flow rate you desire. Fairly inexpensive. http://www.aptinstruments.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=AI&Category_Code=P2

Stray Voltage – How much is bad?

Well the problem with our tanks and stay voltages will never be overcome. There are too many things we use that will cause it. Let alone the salt water and galvanic actions. Any pump using a magnetic field and submerged in the water will cause a voltage to be induced. This also includes the...

    Idea about Ich Hypo

I have a few thoughts on this. The flaw in your plan that I see is that you wont always see symptoms on the fish indicating ich. Especially if they are in the gills. If I remember correctly, they can remain in/on the fish longer than your timeline til increasing your sg. At which point you...

    Salinity/Specific Gravity way to high

Re: Salinity way to high What did you use to calibrate the refractometer. If you used RO water, it may not be reading correctly.

    aquarium water testing .com results.

Has anyone used Lab Aquatics? http://www.labaquatics.com/ AWT appears to use probes and titration tests. Lab Aquatics uses spectrometry and chromatography. It would be interesting to see a comparison of the same water using these two services.

Looking to start dosing 2 part... need info/links

Yes I would have to agree with blange3. It is very important to first get your levels stable and where you want them. Then determine your daily/weekly consumption of ca/alk/mg. Once you know how much your tank is consuming daily/weekly, you can use any of the online calculators to determine how...

    Drew's Doser Peristaltic Dosing Pump

Dave is correct. Depending on what you want to pump will directly affect the longevity of the tubing. Here is a link to the actual manufacture of those pumps. They offer many different sizes, speeds, and dosing amounts. They also offer the different tubing material depending on your needs...
