I have a 12g with no skimmer.... I just have two pumps and a fuge... I have monti caps, digi's, acros and other sps with no problem at all.. they actually look betta than in the big tank.. just a water change here and there and keep up with top off...

but I want a volitan lion.... Am I gonna need a bigger tank for him?

You guys are making me anxious... I have the rock but its dead.. so It will be a while... I'm thinking of just keeping the really low light bulb....

I don't think its the ballast since the SE bulb worked fine.. its the DE bulb.. Imma try calling the place with the bulb...

awsome.. I was thinking of not crowd it too much... since I know a lion needs in reality a bigger tank... then I can feed him guppies and my wife can cry!!!!...lol

Hey guys.. I just bought a fixture.. 150w 15000k de bulb with reflector and Icecap electronic ballast... Works awsome except for the part where the bulb is making a very anoying High pitch sound... Like when you turn on your tv on, but alot louder... what could it be?.. Its comming directly...

Hey guys.. I have a few questions about a UV shield... first of all.. is it really necessary??.. and second: what makes a uv shield a uv shield?... can any glass or plexyglass be a shield?

Go to the garden center and buy those things use to hang plants.. they are called pastor something... and just make the light a pendant!

I use a maxijet 1200 and its awsome.. I divert the flow one nozzle behind the rock and the other to the surface and It gives my nice flow.. no dead spots.. but No sand storm either.. When I had only one nozzle then It did create too much flow.. but now its great, no need for additional powerhead.
