Thanks everyone. After cleaning out the hole with a pipe cleaner and rasising the water level - no noise.

I actually tried to raise the water a bit hoping that would help but it hasn't. Neither side was ever under water that I'm aware of.

My 120 used to be so nice and quiet. In the last few weeks though, my one return line has a steady stream out the bottom pee hole. The noise is really aggravating. Any thoughts?

I'm temporarily going to a 6x54w T5 setup on my 120g (48x24x24). Mostly lps, but 2 sps near top. Think I'll be ok? A good friend is custom building me an led setup but that may take 4-6 months before I get it.

I needed 2 ball valves with barb fitting for ¾”ID hose. Only thing I could find at the local plumbing supply was brass – no pvc. Would this be ok to use on a return line or would the brass lead to probs in the tank? Tank is mixed reef with mostly LPS, some SPS, inverts and of course fish. Thx

I have egg crate on top of my tank now, inside a canopy due to a few jumpers. I'd like to ditch the canopy and go with an open top - just think it looks nicer and the better air flow would help with cooling the lights. We have 2 cats - and no we aren't getting rid of them. They can jump on top...

Thanks Hawkeye. Yeah, read the sticky but it just seems really dated. I use vortech powerheads, but combining the controlling on/off of those, and wanting the ability to turn off the skimmer for 2hrs a day (just something I'm trying), has me looking for a controller.

Looking for a controller recommendation. I'm looking to be able to control 3 sets of lights, 3 powerheads and the skimmer. I've never used one, so ease of use and customer support is priority #1. Thanks.

Peppermints are the devil in my book. I'm trying to catch the last little dude in my tank then will never have another.

I usually make a weekly trip that's 1hr each way and occassionally make on that's 2hrs one way.
