My 120 used to be so nice and quiet. In the last few weeks though, my one return line has a steady stream out the bottom pee hole. The noise is really aggravating. Any thoughts?
I'm temporarily going to a 6x54w T5 setup on my 120g (48x24x24). Mostly lps, but 2 sps near top. Think I'll be ok? A good friend is custom building me an led setup but that may take 4-6 months before I get it.
I needed 2 ball valves with barb fitting for ¾”ID hose. Only thing I could find at the local plumbing supply was brass – no pvc. Would this be ok to use on a return line or would the brass lead to probs in the tank? Tank is mixed reef with mostly LPS, some SPS, inverts and of course fish.
Thx
I have egg crate on top of my tank now, inside a canopy due to a few jumpers. I'd like to ditch the canopy and go with an open top - just think it looks nicer and the better air flow would help with cooling the lights.
We have 2 cats - and no we aren't getting rid of them. They can jump on top...
Looking for a controller recommendation.
I'm looking to be able to control 3 sets of lights, 3 powerheads and the skimmer. I've never used one, so ease of use and customer support is priority #1.
Thanks.
Needs to be gone fast. $125 picked up near Morristown.

My fuge is about 18" tall, 7" deep and 36" long. I'd been trying to use one of those cheap clip on lamps from home depot but I'm not growing anything other than user frustration.
So I was thinking of mounting a 1 bulb 24" T5 fixture down there, or spending more more money on an LED...
Not aquarium related - pc related, but since we all use some type of power distribution for our aquariums - just take this as a reminder to not buy cheap powerstrips and that they do go bad so replace semi-frequently.
As I was pulling in at work the wife called and said the basement was filled...
After setting up a drip line tonight, my wife yelled into the basement 10 mins later that our one clown fish was on the carpet. It couldn't have been more than 10 mins, maybe as little as 5. I scooped him up as carefully as I could and tossed him back in. He just laid there for awhile and I was...
Looking for some tips on eliminating red slime. I don't have a lot yet and have stopped using Rods because I believe that's the source. Any suggestions on how to eliminate what's already in the tank? thx.
Right now there is plenty of distance between my duncan and my new torch. As they grow, and especially as the torch extends out, will they hurt each other? Thx
Is there a site or formula that will help you figure out how much water to add with one sg to bring your existing water to the level you want?
For example, when away I came home to a tank at 1.027 (I normally try to stay at 1.024). If it's a 120g, with roughly 25g in the sump and 20g in the...
2 of my recent coral purchases from my LFS have bubble algae. I've glued the two discs, but should I pull them off the rock then try to scrape the algae off? Will it grow back? Any other way to get rid of it. It's really annoying since one was a really nice blasto :'( ... the other is a little...
Well the ironic thing is yesterday when i picked up some new corals from the LFS, they told me I should dose calcium. I'm glad I didn't because I got a test kit for CA and one for KH. They are both too high.
CA=450
KH=11.2, Alk=4.00
What's the best way to LOWER these?
What's the best way to lower ph without buying more equipment? My ph is now up to 8.7 :o
Tank was setup around Jan timeframe but was never fully hooked up till 2 weeks ago. Has now had 50% water change, and rest of parameters that I test for, amonia, trites, trates are ok although trates won't...
Looking for some advice. Tank is a 120 and still isn't totally setup.
I have a laundry room beneath the tank and I'd like to keep my RODI water, both salt and topup water in the basement then pump it up on demand. What size pump am I looking for? Also, if I do this, am I putting an auto topoff...
Just set up my RO/DI unit today. It's currently in the slop sink till I get it hooked up permanently. Dumb question, and you should expect no other kind from me ;D , is how far on do I want my faucet? I know it's cold only, but do I put it on just a trickle, full bore, 1/2, 1/4" I'm fast...
Since I can't find anyone to build me my custom fuge, I'm going to try it myself. Anyone know where near Morristown where I can find 1/4" acrylic? Is that something home depot would have or do I need to find a distributor somewhere? Thx.
