I prefer people who are windows users to try this first.. http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2216, make a bootable usb drive http://www.majorgeeks.com/Universal_USB_Installer_d7180.html and then just boot to the usb drive for a test run.. you might like it.. :) When you get really good you can play...
Hello All,
Been awhile.. I hope everyone is doing well and their tanks have been prosperous.. :) I am writing today because I am looking for someone that can build an intricate acrylic sump professionally. Does NJR have anyone specifically in mind? Suggestions are welcomed. Images of work...
Suggested typical value of LR / Gallon is 1.5 to 2 lbs per gallon of water ( suggested ) for a 30 gallon tank I would have between 45 and 60 lbs of rock in the tank ( personally I would have 60 ) getting my rock from Dr. Mac ( able to ask for certain sizes ) minus the high silicates it came...
If you are still interested, this is a pretty good price from a reputable place ( I have dealt with before myself ) LPS's or Retail would be about 20 dollars or more for the pro system. Consider shipping ( not sure what it would be ) it might be best to get it from your LPS instead...
The dimensions are as follows:
Total Canister: 5" wide x 6" deep x 13 1/2" high.
I am not sure if I would personally use this on a normal basis.. The filter captures everything in it ( might create nitrates over time ) and is super fine so cleaning it would have to be very often ( depending...
It is not that big, but big enough I would not want it hanging off my tank. The nice thing to use it for is cleaning day.. I would do a water change, blow off all the rock and the bottom of the tank ( bare bottom ) and all the debris would just get sucked up by it. Very nice for cleanings...
I would like a piece of this 1 inch is fine.. please let me know if you are selling and if you are PM a price.. 1/2 inch will work.. just need the seed ;)
depends on the size of your tank.. I use distilled water since I only do 3 gallon WC's a week... I would have to say if you need more then 5 gallons of water regularly an RO/DI is your best bet.. many people have done fine with units from Ebay..
seems a bit odd that the salt would do this ( at least to me ) I have been doing 3 gallon water changes on a 12 gallon tank every Saturday for over 2 years and no matter which salt I use ( seachem reef salt all the time ) or if I run out ( reef crapstals ) it never mattered..
So what can we...
without a photo it is going to be hard to tell.. chances are they might be some type of tube worm, or something.. What we don't want to hear is that they are brownish clear with tentacles and you have a million aptasia... Can you get a picture?
Hey big guy.. why not just use a hanging kit? Just get a stud finder and find the center of the studs in the ceiling about 24" apart. Install the hanging kit and you are done? or is the ceiling too far away and you don't like it?
I have noticed that on my rocks as well, but usually on the underside, never on the top in the light.. It comes and goes and does no harm that I have ever witnessed.. I dose brightwell liquid reef and use seachem reef salt. My rock originally came from Dr Mac.
I would give the company a call on this one.. Reason: you really don't want the bulb to burst, cause a fire, melt the hood, try taking microscopic pieces of bulb out of the tank, etc.. I wouldn't take the chance. Just a suggestion.. they are pretty good about that stuff and will probably send...
Good luck on that! I was cleaning my tank once and my rocks fell over.. Needless to say it took me the next 3 hours to get them back where i wanted them and I needed another 2 gallons of water to put back in the tank cause I was getting so pissed off. LOL.. Usually does not happen, but the rocks...

The going rate for that if you are lucky is 15x less in this club. Should send that guy to the BBB. I hate when people take advantage of others like that..
I don't know who maddie is, but I can tell you that after reading this, everything in my life that seems off, or wrong or not going the way I'd like seems pretty immaterial.
May god bless you and your entire family.
The benefit of an INLINE TDS meter or 2 with your RODI unit is so you can see what the tds is before and after your membrane/filtration: This way you do not have to test it by hand in the bucket like those of us who BUY distilled water in gallon jugs. If you have an RODI unit you might as well...
