hey all, so after the breakdown, i still have:
a 20High and 20long the 20long is baffled and 20H has a 1.5" hole..Both are FREE for pickup, located in sayreville
nevermind, i do understand the external durso setup..if i were to do one or two external durso, say either 2 1" bulkheads, one on each corner, or just one 1.5" bulkhead, with just the 90 and intake strainer(put somekind of netting on the strainer for critters), would that setup be better/quieter...
i actually was reading up on bean's setup, but i for its not for me, because if i was to do that, i would like to run a calfo overflow, which would take up much space in a small 50g tank. I also did the hofer gurle buster on my U tube overflow box, that i have on my 75g and it did wonders...best...
hey guys, just to let you guys know, i will be downgrading to a 50g that i can keep in my room, it will most likely be just FOWLR tank..Thanks for the inputs..
So your saying from the bulkhead, add like some pvc, then add a 90 facing up, from there add another pvc(adjustable) then to strainer? so strainer should be able to surface skim? thx for all the inputs :) sorry for all the obvious question, i just like to make sure of myself i'm gonna do it...
sorry, didn't notice that, ok now its clear, this setup is relatively quiet? so standard threaded bulkhead Fitting 1 inch should be fine? I'll put it right in the middle of the back. drill size should be 1 3/4"? can i order an external durso from rich? or should i just make it? Thanks for all...
So are u sayin to drill hole n put just the 90 directly or wit the overflow? Sry i'm noon web it comes to this. I thought witout overflow it can drain out all water? For overflow better to just make one? Thx
well i know i can make one, but not sure where it's best positioned? center or corner? Also i would like to get a pic of the overflow chamber design, to get an idea..Thanks
hey, so i decided to downgrade from my 75aga to a aga 40 breeder, i wanted to keep this setup in my room, so i wanted it be relatively every quiet. I was thinking of the duro standpipe..I am pretty sure the bottom isn't tempered, but will double check by calling all glass aquarium. So i searched...
maintenance wise, not really giving much problems, but electricity my dads been complaining about alot lately lol..with my lights on, heaters, skimmer, phosban, 2 pumps, 2 powerheads, kill a watt measures like 900watts! So i will look more into leds..thanks
Thank for all the replies, well i think what i should be doing is just putting this hobby away until i have more time, but i think i will take a chance and maybe do a smaller tank..I was actually thinking of like a getting a regular 20high and put together a retro kit consisting of workhorse...
well its not like i can't any electricity at all lol..just not as much as a 75g reef setup..So for led lighting, any one can chime in? would powerbrite work? I see PFO, wasn't trying to spend that much..
