75 Gallon Tank and Stand Build

Ok, so after much heartache with my 55 gallon tank (oops the backglass was tempered), i've decided to do a 75 gallon tank instead. Instead of buying a stand i've opted to build one myself. I guess i'll start the thread here and update it in real time as i progress. Here's the framing on the tank. I had to alternate the directions of the center vertical supports in order to accomodate the sump. I'm going to be building doors in front as well as on the left side in order to get the sump in and out.

Welcome. By the way, I too like the idea of doors on the end to easily move the sump in and out. One comment on your stand build...it appears the upper frame, which will hold the tank, is supported by the fasteners only (probably screws), through the upright 2x4's. You really don't want the support of all that weight to be reliant on a few screws. You should adjust the design similar to the plans on RC...here's the picture...that shows the upper frame being supported by directly sitting on 2x4 uprights. You could simply modify your current stand by adding these supports to the outer sides of the present 2x4's. In the picture, you already have the green ones....you need to add purple ones. Keep the photos and build story coming.

Here it is minus the doors. i'm going to scrounge up the doors sometime in the future so for now i'm going to start my tank without the doors. i'll get some measurements on what i used in the next few days.

So after finding out I would be moving in a few months, the tank had to go on hiatus. Now that i'm settled in the new place, progress can continue. 135 pounds of live rock.
