Anyone know....

Does anyone know what type of coral this is which I am about to describe?

It is red and it hangs up side down and at night is when it opens and it has flowers on it ????

If it looks like Kenya Tree, it could be Dendronepthya sp. - Red Carnation Coral (most often in the trade) but it can also be Scleronephthya sp. or even the Nephthyigorgia sp. - Chili Cactus Coral. Dendronepthya sp, are definitively the ones that like (should be) hanging "upside down".

You can read about them here (nice pics too :) ):

and why you shouldn't keep them, here:

Well, thats the name of the coral alright... .

I didn't know that it would be that hard to keep.. ??? Wifey loved the color and bought it from the store..

But I'll do my best to take care of it.. if all possible.. :D

Ahh the tempting song of the Siren. I think we all have killed one of those. Chalk it up to a lessoned learned...no impulse buying @ the LFS.
There is a pretty extensive thread on RC about people trying to keep them, check it out.

I would rate lions and bears as much easier and more practical for the average person to maintain ;)

They are beautiful, but the chances of success even for professional aquarists is dismal at best.
