Yes, you can drill acrylic using the same tools you would use for wood. Therefore, it is not the same as glass...a lot easier...and faster.

you can use a regular hole saw, i would keep the speed low and the acrylic wet so the acrylic dosen't melt.
i haven't done much acrylic work so if the speed isn't correct feel free to correct me
