I just got an all glass 36 gal bow front corner tank. It has a light but it will not be good enough for a salt water soft coral tank. I figured to put another light in the front of it would have to be 20" long and not get to hot due to the glass cover with plastic but to also give the right watts to grow soft coral. Please help. Any info is greatly appreciated since this is my first saltwater adventure Thanks John

T-5 HO good for soft as well as LPS & SPS.
new to saltwater what are LPS & SPS.and what typ light bulb do I put in the light the first light mentione is 24" will this light melt plastic on tank thanks John

LPS=Large Polyp Stoney
SPS=Small Polyp Stoney
With halide you have to loose the glass it will get way too hot,T-5 you can use the 2" legs and leave the glass on.

IME i would not cover the top of the tank with anything only because it's a pain having to clean the salt creep that builds on the glass, i think Ur best bet is to go look at some tanks so u can decide what u like better, VHO,T-5 & MH will all grow SPS,LPS & Softies.
