Glass Cages

My tank is from
Glass cages. I was / am very happy with how it all went.

A few notes on my experience:

I got significantly reduced shipping because they had a scheduled trip to Toms River anyway. But I had to wait three months. No big deal for me because I didn't have a Home for it for 6 months anyway.

In any case, the original arrival did not go well. But glass cages handled the situation well.

The truck was scheduled to arrive at 9am. They were suppose to drop my tank first. Then head over to cattas island with the their shipment.

Well driver went to cattas island first. For reasons beyond my level of comprehension, the driver off loaded my 12' long +1000lbs tank first (despite the tank NOT being in the way)

At 10 and 11 I called for an updated eta. Each time I was told the driver is on the way. I had a whole crew of "helpers" waiting with me.

At 11:30 I get a call from the driver, he told me he took my tank off and can't get it back on. Could I come down and help load it back up.

So my helpers leave - still paid them the $50 each (out 250$). A d myself and three friends head down to TR.

We had 13 guys on the tank, with suction cups and could not lilt it more then an inch off the ground. Well we get it on the lift gate with 8 feet hanging off. And bring it to the trailer level. We all get on it again. And lift. Again we didn't make it more then 1". And as we attempted to slide it in the trailer it slammed into a half inch lip of the trailer.

Cracked the bottom 1" plate a solid 20" multi faceted crack happened.

As you might imagine I was pissed.

The driver made the case at the time that he wasn't responsible because we had 13 guys lifting including me. Once I touched it he said it was on me.

I was pissed. And came in strong with GC cs. But they responded well. Agreed to replace the tank and no cost return shipping.

The second time it arrived I was better prepared. We had 15 hired hands plus 4 buddies. Off and in the house went smoothly.

Tanks been up for 7 months and am very happy with it. The Low iron glass is great.

Looking back, I'd have like to think through the reef ready holes. I'd have preferred a different setup.

Yeah. It's not that deep. I wanted length. So I was set on the 12'. I played with height and depth for awhile. Settled on 14" and 18"

It's plenty room enough for the fish I have.
