220g sump which one?

I was checking out LifeReef.. the LF1-300S(with in-sump skimmer. it's about $580. what do you guys think or do you have another setup that you would recommend? Obviously the luan and duct tape one isn't sufficient ;D

I have heard good things about their work...I don't know about the skimmer though.
Here is the sump/refugium that I had built 36x18

The skimmer was custom by Orca systems. My pump I got from AO mag 12, light is HomeDepot cheap.

what size should i be looking for? is my mock-up the correct size? 36X18X18? and What GPH should i have? is 1000gph-1500gph enough for a tank this size?
