I built my first aluminum stand really like it. The adult equivalent of playing with Lego. Am ordering some more aluminum for the light mount. There are tons of parts available.

I am not sure yet. I kind of like the look with just the frame. I will however mount a piece of wood for the electrical stuff.

I ordered from tnutz.com. All the lengths are custom to match the exact dimensions of the tank.

How did you calculate what you need based on weight.?

I don't. And I try not to overbuild. The tank is small. The 1010 series is what I use. I make sure the top frame sit on the legs instead of just attached to the legs, which some people do.
