Auto top off

I was going to do my own Auto Top Off but after looking at the danger in terms of floding and electrocution.... I decided to purchase mine from:
http://www.topdose.net/

I have the model with the two float switches and its awesome, I had it running on my old 55G on the tank to replenish evaporated water. I'm just setting it up now in the sump of my 72 for Kalkwasser.

You can buy them also from ebay, this person actually makes them himself.

We're using the double controllers from AutoTopOff.com  They work really well.  Here's a link.

I'm not sure what kind of set up you have but these seem to be pretty versatile.  I have one of them in a 10g sump that controls a pump in 5g bucket and another in a 100g sump that controls a pump in a 55g drum.  In both cases they work great, making topoffs something I never have to think about (except for re-filling the 5g bucket every other week).  The second switch is nice because it's a safeguard against overflowing.

Mine has that a second switch like you said to control overfilling, but it also has a timer that only lets the pump run for ~6 mins before it shuts off. kind like two safeguards.

We use our aquacontrollers to provide that same level of double protection. The ACs only turn the pump on for 1m every 6h.

Hey guys/gals, I'm looking at this:

http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...reen=PROD&Product_Code=JBJ-ATO&Category_Code=

Any thoughts? This week away from home on this business trip has had me stressed out that my wife was making appropriate top offs all week. I don't want to have to deal with that again.

With the PA group buy, the price is even better.

I am thinking of ordering this, especially with the group buy. I read a few reviews and the only negative thing I heard was it makes a noise when the water level is low, but there is a way to turn it off.

The Double Switch from AutoTopOff.com saved my a**!!

Walked into the filter room and my sump was full! Whew!

I guess the bottom float got stuck...Luckily the 2nd switch stopped it. Now I have it hooked up to my AC Jr. doing the same thing that Phyl mentioned.. One minute every 6 hours.

Can anyone recommend a pump for the JBJ ATO? My ro/di reserve is going to be in my basement, so the water is going to have to travel upward about 15 feet.
