BC 32 setting up on nice carpet

Any suggestions on how to protect high quality carpet around the tank. I can be a bit sloppy - my other 2 tanks are FW so I don't worry too much about getting a little water on the carpet, but the wife is concerned about SW dripping/splashing on carpet. Was thinking of getting one of those thick plastic mats they use in offices for executive chairs with wheels, big enough to have a 2ft. radius around the tank.

That would work I just lay down a towel when I'm working around the tank.

Omg! Such a simple solution. Guess I had a brain fart while asking original question.

I use a disposable plastic drop cloth. I cut it in half before opening. Place it on the carpet and put a towel over area. I can reuse the plastic a few times before it gets a hole
