Birdsnest Question

Interesting read. I just lost both of my birdsnest. Figured it was from being on vacation and the "having a meeting" jinks. lost flesh from the bottom up. Saved a couple frags guess i better pull them out and check or any bugs. Didn't notice them when i took the frag

So in my quest to find more info about these little buggers, I ran across this article from Eric Borneman in Reefkeeping.

Unfortunately it looks like these little guys can survive quite sometime without a host. Also it looks like we can add a potassium permanganate dip to the list.

I have found so far that 50mg/l for 90 minutes is a dosage level that kills 100% of pest aeolid nudibranchs and their egg masses on four species of Montipora.

That's 50mg potassium permanganate to 1 liter of saltwater for 90 minutes.

I guess I am off to go find some KMnO4

Yeah but the garlic concentration seems to be a fine line between killing the pest and killing the coral.
