I've only ever kept them singly. Just be aware that they are a cool water fish and should be kept at temperatures in the 70-74 degree range.

i heard that they are cold water fish, but i not that cold. my tank stays 77-79. not gonna work huh?!?

i might just go with some fire fish.

Nope, sad to say those temps won't work long term. You may be successful for a few months which is nothing for a fish that lives for years.

Matt's right. I kept one in a tank that never got over 77*. It lasted about six months and then, the day after I bragged to Matt about my success, it died! It's too bad because they are really beautiful fish.
