Feeding acans

Do acans have to be spot feed? Mine is not looking to good.

Try changing his location in the tank. What kind of acan is it?

You can try feeding it ... about an hour after lights out. You'll see some short tenticles come out and you can use turkey bastor with ArcticPods or cyclopeez. Something small.

OK, here are pics of my Acan. It looks like its melting. Can someone also please identify what kind/name of it. Reefer Jf2381 recommended I spot feed it. He says I have enough flow and good lighting. Is there anything else I can do?

Looks like my acan lordhow....whatchamacallit. If it needs to be fed (I haven't ever found it NECESSARY), then feed it mysis. The feelers out make it seem to me like it senses something in the water it can eat. Had you recently fed the tank?

Have you checked your PH, Alk & Magnesium lately? I'm guessing your Mg is low. LPS hate low Mg.

I think Phyl is right. That looks like a chemical problem in the tank, or it is being stung by another coral or invert.

These are my current parameters:

CA=420
KH=12
MG=1400
Nitrate=0
ph=8.02 I think this morning it was 7.09 or 7.90 (can't remember)
