There are a number of ways to fasten Xenia.
First I would take an exacta knife or clean razor blade to cut a section away.
Try to get a piece with multiple stalks if you can.
Now you can use a loose tie with fishing line, cotton thread, or a rubber band. Place the string between a couple stalks and then around the rubble/rock. Then put it in a slow flow area of the tank. It will attach in a few days.
I also have just placed the frag in a plastic cup with rubble rock. As long as the fish and current doesn’t blow it out of the cup it will attach.
Also you can place small rock or rubble around the main colony. When it spreads across to the rock just slice the rock away. Heal for a day or two and your ready to trade/sell.
There are other ways too. Do a search or I’m sure others will join in.

LOL they will do fine. Just try to make a clean cut in one quick motion.
I would be more worried about you. Xenia stinks when out of the water. One of the worst smelling corals IMO. :-X
You would be surprised at how much a healthy coral can deal with when fragging.
