Ich ick season ?

Have many friends with ich
i started a similar thread on a different forum about a year ago seems like many people were having ich the same time a year ago as well

Yes i know people get it all year long but im thinking this is from the wild mass breakout infecting anyone thats buying fish now

How many people currently have ich

What do you do to treat and avoid ich


Quarantine?
Feed well? (treat it like a cold)
Buy from a store that....

Cleaner wrasse
Neon goby
Cleaner shrimp

Garlic?
Selcon?
Copper?
Hypo salinity?
Melafix?
Ich attack?

Ich is entirely preventable through proper quarantine. Some owners go a step further and will medicate asymptomatic fish prior to introduction to main display. The old proverbial saying "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of treatment" is 100% true as it relates to reefkeeping.

Treatment is the removal of all infected and even asymptomatic fish (as they could be carriers) back to quarantine and leaving the tank fallow for a period of time.

1000% agreed. Be mindful of other things that go in the tank and QT everything. Corals, inverts, Fish. Take precautions and ich is something you won’t have to deal with.
