Laptop ?

I am considering purchasing this laptop. Will mainly use it for work. Only concern I have is the graphics card. I have read mixed reviews. I am sure for on-line and work it will be fine but may want to play a game or two. Anyone familiar with it?

I have an Acer and love it. I would suggest looking at something with a little more RAM. Vista is a RAM hog and even with 1 gig you'll want more.

I know BillyR has an Acer also and last I knew he was happy with his.

Thanks. I heard good things about Acer; guess you have 2 gig. I know Vista is a hog but was considering wiping it out and putting XP. My concern was the video card. Any comments on that?

I haven't had any issues with my video card. Not sure if it's the same one that you were looking at though.

I thought about downgrading to XP but all the hardware drivers are set for Vista. I guess you could get the XP drivers but I am getting used to Vista now so it's not a big deal to switch.

Look at it this way - if you want to play Gears of War - I think it may freeze on the graphics card...

but if your plan was to dust off an old copy of Fallout/Starcraft...then go for it!


For $100 bucks more...you could set yourself up with a 128mb nvidia graphics card on this dell deal...
