Moved to Guam started a new tank 270 Gallon

Well its been quite some time since I posted on here. I moved to Guam last August. If you guys don't want me posting on here I understand. Since moving there and finding a house a tank was the next thing on the list. The reefing scene is not the same here. There are only a handful of people that are in to reef tanks on the whole island. Maybe its because we can just wade out 20ft from shore and are literally standing in the middle of a reef? I don't know. I do know that I needed another tank in my house. Finding a tank took some time. I was able to find someone moving who had a 270 gallon that wouldn't fit in his new house. So when he said it was for sale I jumped on it. I will post photos of me building it up till now. Here is the new tank

Got the tank home and spent the next 6 hours cleaning it. My wife was not digging the smell of dead ocean in the dining room.

Found a 55 gallon tank to make a sump out of. Wanted a 75 gal but could not find one. So had to make do.

Skimmer is a Bubble King Supermarin 200

The fish that came with the tank so I needed to set up a quarantine. It is sitting on my back porch and temp stays steady at 79. They have been in here since early Dec.

Filled it with water. Im using artificial water even though everyone here just gets water from the ocean. They seem to have problems with ick and Apstasia in their tanks. I didn't want any of those issues yet

wow. 20 feet to reef outside .But now it right in your house to view a the time .
Yes its pretty cool the island is surrounded by reefs. Snorkeling is amazing.
Awesome job well done
Thanks, Got the idea for my quarantine tank from seeing your tanks. Also the 180 I bought off of you is up in NJ now and looks amazing.
Love the tank! Please post and visit very often. I want to see the tank full of life.
Thanks I will try to. I can't wait till it is full of life either. Its killing me with it empty right now.
Very cool
Thanks

Any plans to capitalize on the natural resources? ie frags/rock/seawater? This is an interesting thread.
The rocks and sand are local. They were both dry. Pulled them from near the beach. I didnt want to introduce any pests if I could help it. All fish will be quarantined before hitting the tank. Coral is kinda tricky here. Its against the law to remove it from the reefs. However guys have coral in their tanks and thats legal to trade /sell. Im sure they just pulled it from the ocean. Lol. I want to capitalize on the fresh seawater. But not till I get a holding tank and can let the water sit fallow or figure out how to kill the bad stuff.
