My 56 gallon Reefotopia Build

Finally I'm in the process of upgrading from a 12 gallon nano to a 56 gallon perfecto. I bought the tank used the other day, from Joe. Yesterday, with a lot of help from Tr, I built the frame to the stand that I'll be using. For now it will remain as a frame until I can afford to make it a little more aesthetically pleasing, however, I kind of like the way it looks. The whole build is going to be somewhat of a long process, but I have nothing but time, and waiting is half the fun, haha. Today I'm going to be working out some canopy plans. The glass drill should be coming next week, thanks to Tr,and then on to building the overflow as well as plumbing. I have my T5s coming in sometime next week, to Red Sand in Dunellon. Can't wait to get it up and running.

Plans include:
Plumbing ( I'm trying to figure out the pump and size to use)
Sump and fuge (20 gallons) I want to keep them on display.
Skimmer

KASAN!!!!
Wow the tank does look good on that stand!!!
And your very welcome for the help!!!!
And Claire Says she hopes the Chicken was OK Last Nite!!! LOL!!

Thank you Redfishbluefish, that helped me a lot.

TR, seriously bro, thank you for the help, and tell her the chicken was really good, but the tool sweatshirt girls was pretty damn good as well. Haha.

Okay, so I've spent the better part of the day running back and forth between the house and home depot, and putting together my over flow. The dimensions are 24 wide, 4 inches deep and 8 inches tall. It's actually looking very nice, and with luck, I should be done tomorrow. Next step, drilling, pump, and plumbing. Can't wait.

Steve, the overflow is arcrylic. I really could not have done a more sturdy clean job on that thing. I'm really proud of myslef.

Lord Viper, thank you very much. Do you have a build on here as well.

To everyone- I will be purchasing a membership this week, haha.

Today, after class, I'm heading out to buy a sump and a pump, probably a mag 9, as suggested above. Also, I'm siliconing the OF in the tank, purchasing the bulkheads, planning the plumbing, and if all goes as planned, I'll be drilling the glass tomorrow. On top of it all, I have a novel to read, and two exams to prepare for. Busy life, but wouldn't have it any other way.

It's looking good. What are the dim. on the tank? Do you think the T5's will be enough for the corals at the bottom?

I like the look of the dual overflows!
I wonder who you stole that idea from!?!?!? LOL!
I guess I'm gonna have to frag some stuff for your new tank!!!
Looking good though!
I'll try and stop over later today once you fix that sump stand and get the rest of the water... If you need more I have some made up I could bring over!!!

Those Blue Zoos in the Nano look Great!!!!

ricwilli- the dimensions are 30 long 24 deep, but what I decided to do is actually go with 4, 24w t5s and a 250 w MH. I think that should be more than sufficent for sps, and should penetrate the depth. What do you think?

Hey all my excited fans, haha, I just picked up a beautiful galaxia. Grandma still thinks I'm 12 years old. I always get a little gift when she comes to see me. Hey, I'm not complaining.

To an old man like me there is little difference between 12 and 23. ;D

Gotta love grandma presents, good luck with the galaxia. I've always wanted one but never had enough room to keep it at a safe distance from my other corals.

Those sweeper tenticles are no joke. I have it set up away from the direct flow, and even with that, they spread at least 6 inches. Should be fine though, it's in a nice spot.
