Need ID

Have anyone ever seen something like these guys? I was cleaning my rocks and found two of these guys. One of them actually got split into two but is still alive. I'm not sure what they are look like some sort of slug. re.jpger.jpg

I would say polyclad flat worm. They can be predatory to inverts such as clams and snails. Have you seen any empty snail shells around?

Kevin, I think you’ve got it. Being a newbie, I’ve never heard of them before, but looking at a picture, I think you’re spot on.

They are actually a pretty cool creature. They come in a variety of colors. It would be cool to have them if the weren't predatory.

Wow thanks for the ID, hopefullly there's only these two in my tank. I hate to keep replacing snails because of these guys and I did have 2 clams in my tank before they mysteriously died.

I think you found the culprit. What you can do is wait till the lights are out for a few hours and use a small flashlight to look around the tank for others. They tend to be nocturnal.

Found one in my tank tonight....in the process of eating a snail. It was too well sequestered to get at. Will try another night.
