So I am having to setup a new tank, think 2-5 gal Fowlr tank, I need to remove a clown from tank due to being attacked by another clown...so if I do a 2gal water change from my main tank and use that to set up the new tank, will I experience a cycle?

Did you seed the filter media in the new tank? Are there any rocks in main tank that will be transferred to the other tank?

You need to cycle the tank before putting the fish in there., and also cure the rock. It would be cruel to put the fish in a non cycled tank

while you are cycling the new tank, can you buy one of those net cubes that attaches inside of the top of the tank, and let the fish stay there?
